Music: Excerpt from Bloom by Mindi Abair, Life Less Ordinary. Used with permission

My editor at Scribner, Anna deVries, suggested I consider showcasing some of the many photos I've taken over the years while writing my Virginia wine country mysteries. What I've come up with is a 3 minute movie of some of the places I've written about -- and others that haven't yet appeared in my books -- that I hope you'll enjoy.

Thanks to Swedenburg Estate Vineyard in Middleburg and Barrel Oak Winery in Delaplane for allowing me to photograph their vineyards. You'll also find photos of the towns of Middleburg and Leesburg and the surrounding region, the Upperville Colt and Horse Show, the hot air balloon festival at Long Branch, the Middleburg Hunt Point-to-Point, and the Hunt Country Stable Tour's exhibition polo match. The winter photos of the Potomac River were taken at Mount Vernon; the spring vineyard pictures when the flowering trees are in bloom were taken in Thomas Jefferson's vineyard at Monticello.

Thanks to Stan Kerns for taking me flying (the aerial shots of the Shenandoah Valley and the Blue Ridge Mountains), Terry Jones for some of the action photos at the Upperville Colt and Horse Show, André de Nesnera for the photos at Long Branch, and Rick Tagg, assistant winemaker at Barrel Oak Winery, for one of the vineyard photos. Special thanks to Mindi Abair and Chapman Management for permission to use the clip of "Bloom."

More praise for The
Chardonnay Charade

Light and refreshing -- like a glass of white wine on a summer day... an engaging mystery with likeable characters. Crosby, a former journalist, has obviously done her homework about grape growing and winemaking.
Associated Press

[A] deft use of setting and... pleasingly drawn characters.
Chicago Sun-Times

More praise for
The Merlot Murders

An absorbing plot, rich with details on the wine industry, and an evocative sense of the lush Virginian countryside.
Barbara Bibel,
Booklist

Crosby has done her research on the wine industry in Virginia, making this fast-paced mystery a treat for those who like unusual settings.
Library Journal

Like a fine wine, Crosby's debut is complex and intricate... This is a terrific kickoff to what promises to be a highly satisfying new series.
Publishers Weekly

(A) scintillating novel... the top-notch suspense keeps you guessing until the riveting conclusion.
